They often argue about what the army affords.
It’s a tough argument because his current assignment is running a burial team at Ft. Bragg.

Since the war started, they’ve buried 23 soldiers.

Some of his team were in junior high when the Iraq war started.

He keeps his men out in the sun drilling day after drilling to get it right. During a burial, his squad of five fires three volleys. If they aren’t perfectly in sync, the scattered gunfire is called “popcorn” — and nobody wants to be the man who misfired.

Javorn has one semester left, but his GI Bill is coming to an end.
